CBS Sports Acquires Exclusive Rights To Deliver AFC Matches In United States
CBS Sports has reached multi-platform agreement with Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to deliver soccer matches.
CBS Sports deal with AFC will allow CBS to deliver more than 300 matches on Paramount+, ViacomCBS’ subscription streaming service in United States starting September 2021 through 2024.
CBS Sports will deliver AFC’s world-class competitions that include:
- AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar Final Round
- AFC Champions League
- AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 and
- AFC Asian Cup China 2023
ViacomCBS owned and operated subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service in United States Paramount+ will broadcast more than 300 club and national team matches live through 2024.
Paramount+ coverage starts the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar Final Round in September featuring Asia’s top 12 nations, with the competition continuing in 2022.
Paramount+ will also deliver the remainder of the 2021 AFC Champions League from the Knockout Stage matches through the Final in November. The service will be the home of the AFC Men’s Champions League each season through 2024.
CBS Sports AFC deal will allow CBS to deliver the AFC Women’s Asian Cup edition, which also serves as the qualifiers for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023, begins in 2022, while coverage of the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 begins in June 2023.
